Lysa was humanely euthanized on 6/26/2008
BREEDER: Dr. Perry Dillon + Donna Stekli
OWNER: Donna Stekli + Lemuel Burnett

Lysa is everything a keeshond female should be. She is crafty, smart and conforms to the Breed Standard. We love her dearly and she is a joy to own and have around. She is a born retriever, which is something new to us. She loves obedience and started agility training for fun.

Lysa is a darker girl, with no tawny in her coat, but has that glimmering, shimmering silver. She has been raised as an MNR dog since she was 8 weeks old. [Modern Naturally Reared]

Lysa completed her championship easily, from the Bred By Exhibitor class, with THREE majors at age 20 months. She was shown sparingly as a special, going Breed several times over top boys, and is a group placing bitch !
Her litter brother, Jean (Ch. Perikees Jongleaur at A*starz; owner/co-breeder: Dr. Perry Dillon, Perikees in Oklahoma), finished his championship at age one year and is a multiple group placing boy.
Another brother, JouJou, finished his Championship Fall 1996.
Sister, Riva, (Perikees Jacinthe at A*starz, CDX; owner Bonnie Ott of MD) is ranked in the top 10 Obedience Kees in the country. Riva came back from the Cycle Regional Trails in NC 6/96 and out of 72 in Novice, ranked in the top 17, the youngest in any breed to compete in the Trials. She attained her CDX title Fall 96 and is working on her Utility title.

Lysa is the #8 Keeshond Show Bitch in the country according to JabberwocKEES magazine for 1998!

As of 5/2001, Lysa retired from serious show competiton & was shown a few times at Specialties.

Lysa's Finale... 6/26/2008
It is with sadness and joy I tell you of the passing of a great little dog.
One of the best temperaments, wonderful house dog, and cute show girls of her time, Breed winner over the boys, group placer too.

We put her to rest yesterday. She had mamary cancer last fall and had that removed. Everything looked good but, unfortunately, the cancer moved to other parts of her body. She slowly dwindled away until about the last week when she seemed to shrink so fast. She stopped eating & the light was gone from her eyes.
Lysa was just short of 14yrs. She enjoyed herself during her good life, loved to be in the mix, loved her chewies up until a few weeks ago, and was a good mouser. We have great memories of her, lots of pictures and many, many kids, grandkids and on & on to carry on her fine traits. It was strange as Lysa was slowly passing by the puppy pen yesterday morning, that she looked over at the crew of her g-grandkids and seemed to say "I'm tired, I'm going to go now, you carry on...."
We will miss her every day and know we were blessed to own such a wonderful girl.
