Chipper sired eight litters to date out of excellent quality bitches from some of the top kennels in the country (see the list below). Many of his kids have been Group Winners, Group Placers, (from the classes too) Breed Winners, and Sweepstakes Winners. In 1998, Chip has his first Hall of Fame son (Ch. Sherwood's Silversmith). Chip also produced many fine performance kees including: Agility stars, Flyball stars and Obedience stars. Chip produced kees with style, quality, and great clown temperaments like his own; important these days when there are so many kees without personality.
We truly think he is one of the kees that will go down in history as being a positive impact in the Breed. [He was an excellent dog.] Chip has been "put under the microscope" for many kees hereditary problems and has the documents to prove he is clear of: genetic eye disorders, hip dysplaysia, slipping kneecaps, thyroid disorders. Chipper had very clear legs, clean feet, good amount of bone and the best shaped cat-foot we have *ever* seen! He was a very cute dog [but also masculine], with a teddy bear look. He loved to pose and that is reflected in the many photos that have advertised him over the years. He stood at exactly 18" in his prime & his length was exactly 18" [as measured by 2 different agility instructors.] He was a true square dog.
Chip was a clown, a good dog and a joy to have around. He was our first generation MNR, Modern Naturally Reared kees.
He had fun being trained in agility, but I didn't have the time to pursue that with him. He completed his CD title in obedience at age 8yrs.
Chipper was retired from the show ring and from breeding around age 10. As an old dog, Chip's favorite activity was mealtime.
We have semen frozen from Chipper, so at some point, we plan to linebreed the last Chipper litter.
